Dr Jitendra Singh, is a doctor by training, and a journalist by interest. He is the elected BJP member of Parliament (MP) from the Udhampur parliamentary constituency in Jammu and a dynamic member of PM Modi’s cabinet of ministers. Dr Singh holds the extremely important and prestigious charge of Union Minister of State – Prime Minister`s Office (PMO) for the record second term, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (DoPT), Department of Atomic Energy (DoAE) and Department of Space (DoS). Additionally, he also holds the responsibility of MoS (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region

As part of these extremely powerful and important set of portfolios, Dr Jitendra Singh has played an indomitable role. A potent mix of education (based on his medical degrees), knowledge (based on extensive reading and journalistic experiences) coupled with geo-political insights, he has been a very effective Lieutenant to Prime Minister Modi in the effective discharge of his duties.

Dr Singh is the longest serving MoS in the PMO because of his sheer determination, grit, hard work and result-based performance. In this strategic position, he has been able to ensure well-coordinated interaction between the various central ministries as well as state machinery of the eight North-Eastern states and Jammu & Kashmir (both areas that are very close to his heart) to ensure proper implementation and execution of critical projects. In the past 6 years as a Minister in the central government, Dr Jitendra Singh has managed to convince various government ministries of the need to drive all-round infrastructural development in the North Eastern region as well as in J&K, which have been neglected for decades.
